Glasgow Terry Fox Run 2026

Back for round three photographing Glasgow’s Terry Fox Run, and honestly? It just keeps getting better. There’s something pretty special about a Canadian fundraising tradition that brings people together in Scotland—we even had runners joining us from Aberdeen and even all the way from Portugal!

If you don't know Terry Fox's story, it’s pure heart, grit, and resilience in the face of cancer—a journey that hits home for just about everyone. For the last three years, Victoria Park has been the official launchpad for continuing Terry’s original "Marathon of Hope," bringing the community together to raise crucial funds for the Institute of Cancer Research.

Shooting this event is absolute gold for a photographer. The vibe is wonderfully wholesome, family-friendly, and full of energy. Plus, the 2026 edition upped the ante with a home-baking spread (yes, I definitely sampled the goods for research purposes). Massive shoutout to the course marshals, too—they're all volunteers and experienced runners who bring non-stop high-fives and encouragement to every single kilometre - there was even a cow bell to help spur the runners on!

By the time the cameras were packed away, hundreds of pounds had been raised, thousands of steps logged, and a ridiculous amount of fun was had.

Same time next year? Count me in!
