Glasgow Terry Fox Run 2024
Glasgow’s inaugural Terry Fox Run at Victoria Park is in the books, and what a day it was! 🏃✨
Full disclosure: Terry Fox was a new name to me before taking on this photography gig. But what an extraordinary story. For anyone unfamiliar, Terry is a Canadian hero who embarked on his iconic "Marathon of Hope" to run across Canada for cancer research—a legacy that still moves people across the globe today.
Taking over Victoria Park, the Glasgow event was packed with energy, all in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research. Between the live music, heartfelt speeches, and a visit from the local MP, the community spirit was off the charts.
Participants tackled a 5k route through the park. While it was strictly non-competitive, I definitely spotted a few people secretly trying to smash a personal best! As a runner myself, I know the struggle—trying to run "just for fun" is practically impossible when your feet hit the pavement! 😅
Huge thanks to everyone who made the day so memorable. I’d love to be back behind the lens for 2025!
