🇨🇦 City Lights, Baseball Nights & Niagara Heights: My Epic Canadian Adventure! ✈️📸

This trip was guaranteed to be unforgettable right from the start. Why? A few big reasons:

👯‍♂️ Reuniting with a legend: Visiting one of my absolute best friends who moved from Scotland to Toronto three years ago!

👥 The Ultimate Squad: Heading over with three of my best mates.

🍁 Bucket-List Destination: Stepping foot in Canada for the very first time!

So when packing, I stuffed my bags with as much gear as possible—including a mountain of 35mm film rolls 🎞️—ready to document every single memory. My mission? Capture the heart, soul, and magic of the city. 📸💥

🏙️ Rooftop Brews & Canada Day Magic 🍻🎆

The moment we landed in Toronto and checked into our Airbnb, we dashed straight downtown to meet up with our mate.

We spent our very first evening soaking in breathtaking panoramic views of the Toronto skyline from a rooftop terrace, sipping on Canada’s finest brews 🍺 and snapping vibrant night shots of the glowing cityscape. 🌃 To make things even better? It was Canada Day!🎉 We got to kick off our holiday celebrating in true Canadian style! 🇨🇦✨

🌳 From High Park Vibes to Pirate Boats 🏴‍☠️🛶

We spent days pounding the pavement, exploring every corner of Toronto. One stand-out highlight was High Park 🌿. It had this incredible, leafy suburban feel with stunning greenery, yet still felt totally plugged into the energy of the city. Plus, the architectural style here felt like an "old town" escape compared to the glass skyscrapers downtown—so photogenic! 🏛️ photo gold!

Next up: The Toronto Islands! 🏝️ We hitched a ride on local "Pirate Boats" 🏴‍☠️ to ferry us across the water. It honestly felt like Toronto’s answer to NYC’s Central Park—a tranquil green oasis away from the concrete jungle. The dual views of the city skyline rising over Lake Ontario were just unreal. 😍🌊

⚾ Let’s Go Blue Jays! 🧢🌭

Safe to say... we got completely hooked on baseball! ⚾🔥

We went to two games and spent multiple nights hunting down cool sports bars to catch the rest of the series action. Sitting inside Rogers Centre was electric! ⚡ The atmosphere was buzzing, and seeing the massive CN Tower lit up right above the open roof—syncing its light show with the play on the field—was absolute magic. What a night out! 🎉🍻

🛻 Road Trip Time: Vintage Warbirds & Tim Hortons ☕

Naturally, if you're taking a Canadian road trip, you have to rent a proper pick-up truck. Enter: our trusty Ford F-150! 🛻💨

We packed up our beast of a truck for the weekend and charted a course for Hamilton to visit the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. ✈️

This place was unbelievable—we even got to watch vintage warbirds take to the skies! The museum houses one of only two airworthy Lancaster Bombers left in the entire world 🌍✈️ (we were lucky enough to spot it flying over downtown Toronto on Day 1 for Canada Day!).

Hamilton brought a grittier, cool industrial edge compared to Toronto. We explored the streets, spotted incredible classic cars 🚗, and hit up a local sports bar for lunch. Fun Fact: Hamilton is home to the very first Tim Hortons ever! ☕🍩 Safe to say, Tims has become a staple for us all now! 🤤

🍷 Niagara Falls & Secret Vineyards 🌊🍇

The next day, we revved up the F-150 and drove to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Look, locals might poke a little fun at how touristy Niagara Falls is 😜, but for us first-timers? Mind. Blown. 🤯 Riding the boat right into the roaring Horseshoe Falls was easily one of the best experiences of the whole trip! 🌊🚤 (Prepare to get soaked!).

Then came the real surprise... Did you know Canada makes incredible wine?! 🍷🍇 Because I had no idea!

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a gorgeous countryside region filled with rolling vineyards—it felt straight out of Tuscany! 🇮🇹✨ We sampled local Icewine 🧊🍷, which is made from grapes frozen right on the vine. Super sweet, totally unique, and a MUST-try if you're ever in Ontario!

🚘 Cinematic Nights & Final Thoughts 🎬✨

One memory I’ll treasure forever? Driving through downtown Toronto at night. 🏙️✨

Coming from Scotland, where our buildings are... well, a bit shorter 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, driving through a canyon of illuminated skyscrapers reaching up into the night sky felt like being inside a real-life Hollywood movie. 🎥🏎️

Canada, you are incredible! The photographic opportunities across this vast, beautiful country are second to none. I’m already planning my next return trip—so watch this space! 😉✈️📸
